Seattle Times Mobile App Reviews

Great access to the Seattle Times.

Thank you for making this app available. Perhaps you could have some sort of regular features that would be income producing, such as a contest that would cost a couple dollars to enter on a monthly basis (something that takes some skill, not a lottery); access to a special part of the newspaper that could be a bit sensational and fun; a way for readers to connect with other readers that would cost something, a dollar or two on a monthly basis, for you to set up such as for groups looking for members or people looking for groups to be members of, etc.

Lied about features

Call their customer service line and itll tell you you can modify your subscription through the mobile app but that feature is nowhere that I can find.

Local News

When i select the option to view local news, I expect to see news articles relevant to seattle and the surrounding region. Instead i see articles about France, florida etc. whats the point of having different sections if your not seeing different articles. 9.28. Update. App still cant seem to figure out what the true definition of local is. Opened up the local section and was greeted with articles about Korea and Australia. It would seem that the app programmers forgot a line of code or two. Looks like I will have to go elsewhere for my local news.

The app is okay, the content is biased

Most "news" stories are one-sided with a distinctly liberal slant.

Much improved

Nice app. Well done on the redesign. Much improved speed, look and a better user experience.

Good coverage

Id like overall content. Particularly business and tech coverage. UX improvement would help: check out The Guardians app.

Zippy!

Fast and enjoyable!

Much appreciated

Loving the direction this app is going. Applies to the Seattle Times on line content as well. I have come to love reading on my iPad and iPhone. I also get the print replica and the Sunday paper. Took me forever to make my peace with a life without newsprint cluttering up my house. But I am now weaned. And as a frequent traveller, I really like being able to keep up with home. A couple of points: why do the cut lines on the pictures time out? Seems like an odd feature. I often have to retap to finish reading. The other thing that I would really, really love to see is the sports stats and upcoming sporting events with their times and where to see or hear, as has been the standard on page 2 of the sports page for as long as Ive been reading the Times. On the positive, improved side, I think the Life section is great and I love Bethany Jean Clemants food scene reporting.

What no search?

Downloaded this to help navigate the voting issues for November. The lack of searching makes the app useless for this purpose.

Fine Newspaper. Fine Ap

Very satisfied with the Seattle Times. Well written by fine journalists.

Much improved and fast

Very fast page loading, works great on my older iPhone 5 (not an S or C). No landscape, but that doesnt bother me much; I can see it being an issue for tablets though.

Excellent paper

The app continues to improve to provide access to an excellent paper

Thank you!

This Seattle girl lives and works overseas. It is always a pleasure to read the local news wherever I am. Makes me still feel connected. Love the app!

Seattle Times App is Much Improved

Previous app was terrible! Obnoxious with too many distracting ads. I am a subscriber (also of NYTimes app, which is great) and was irritated by the entire Seattle Times experience. Was skeptical of this new app, but tried it and it appears that they have got it right. Thank you for the improved customer experience!

Best News In Town

The Seattle Times has found the way to keep the most vital information available on a daily basis. In the days when news was free...classified advertising...youd get it for nothing. Now theyve figured out a model that works digitally. The world changes, so does The Times.

Terrible new Seattle Times app

For use on my IPad, I need an app that can go into Landscape mode. This new Times app does not go into Landscape mode. Give me the old, slow app back! Terrible that the Times dictates how their readers get to read. The Tacoma Tribune...here I come!

Lost too many key features

Its not very intuitive. Doesnt provide for the same navigation it used to, Id prefer to use the old version.

Much Better

Easy to open, easy to find stories, I enjoy reading it again.

Better now

The times has reworked the app and it loads faster now. It is easy to navigate and there arent too many ads.

Seattle Times

New version is a HUGE improvement . Pages load almost immediately. Navigation is greatly improved.
